Anticipation is starting to rise . . . piles of clothes, electronic gear, and toiletries cover the guest room bed in readiness of paring down and packing for our girls-adventure. There is also a wee bit of apprehension, insofar as a few days ago we were told to evacuate due to a nearby fire that had broken out on a tinder-dry ranch over a ridge from where I live. My first evacuation.
The Nuesta's traveling with me on this adventure include my dear friend Zelda and her oldest daughter Tejomaya. We are heading to Dresden to visit and celebrate the recent graduation of Zelda's youngest daughter, Katarina, from the University of Dresden where she earned a masters degree in Art History. Both younger women are my god-daughters. This adventure is all about having fun . . . mixed with large doses of culture, German wine and beer, and great food . . . "Auf ein gutes Leben!"
